Who Is a Trader?

What is the financial market trader profession?

Trader is a person who trades on financial markets. Hereafter we will speak about traders working on the Forex market because Forex is the most promising, the most liquid, the most dynamic and the most accessible financial market.

So what makes this profession so attractive?

  • Decent profits
  • Flexible working hours and independence
  • Your location doesn’t matter
  • No bosses and unhappy clients

Trading on the Forex market is a constant struggle against yourself, struggle against your fears, temptations, and greed. Trading generates your ability not to get panic-stricken when there is a crisis on the market, ability to firmly stick to the outlined plan of actions, ability to defend your opinion even if it opposes the opinion of the majority, ability to win.

The sense of a trader’s job is to purchase currency at a lower price and sell it at a higher price later (and vice versa, first sell currency and then buy it a lower price). The difference between the purchase price and the sale price makes your profit from an operation. And the main working instrument is a computer with a set of software for getting quotes and news in real time (satellite system or Internet), for making charts and technical analysis, for development and testing of your own methods of analysis and trading strategies.

What to start with?

The quickest way to try out the trader’s job in practice is virtual trading – making deals in a demo mode. Also, it won’t be out of place to read books and visit trading training workshops for beginners. However, the profession of a trader is constant self-education and extension of your store of knowledge.
